Single-Ply Membrane Roofing System:
In single-ply roofing, a high-tech roofing material such as EPDM (an elastomeric rubber roofing membrane), PVC (an energy efficient, fiber reinforced, lightweight roofing membrane) or TPO (a high quality reinforced membrane with superior tear and strength and stability) is used to cover the roof.
Attaching the membrane to the roof is accomplished by using a fully adhered system (a bonding adhesive that firmly secures the
membrane to the substrate), mechanically attached system (special fastening plates are placed in various patterns based on building height, geographic locale, deck type and building usage), or through a ballasted system (loose gravel or interlocking paver keep the membrane in place.)

Sheet Metal Roofing System:
Standing seam metal roofing has increased in popularity over the years because of its unmatched durability and investment value. A standing seam roof is constructed of interlocking metal panels running vertically from the top of the roof to the bottom. The water is allowed to run off without infiltrating the system because the interlocking seams where the two panels join are raised above the roof level.
